Orange Maroc made a defining statement at the Morocco Gaming Expo 2026, held from May 20 to 24 in Rabat, announcing three strategic partnerships that position the telecom operator as the leading corporate force behind Morocco’s growing esports ecosystem. The announcements signal a structured, long-term commitment to nurturing gaming talent across the country, including in cities far from the major urban centers of Casablanca and Rabat.

The centerpiece of Orange Maroc’s presence at the event was a partnership with the Fédération Royale Marocaine des Jeux Électroniques (FRMJE) to launch the Bourse Orange eSport, a dedicated program designed to train and support five esports associations based in small Moroccan cities. The initiative expands on an already established relationship between Orange Maroc and the federation, which the operator has supported through the sponsorship of the eBotola editions in both 2025 and 2026, Morocco’s flagship national esports competition.

In a landmark move for the country’s competitive gaming scene, Orange Maroc became the first telecom operator in Morocco to sponsor a national esports team. The partnership with Team xProjekt, which has been voted the favorite team by Moroccan gamers at the Gaming Awards in both 2023 and 2025, was announced during a live reveal broadcast at the expo. Team xProjekt fields 29 players across seven squads competing in five titles, three of which are mobile games. Orange Maroc also confirmed its backing of Youssef Charif, known by his gaming handle xCharifx, who was named the best player in Africa in EA SPORTS FC 26, supporting his continued participation on the international stage.

The third partnership brought together the Fondation Orange and journalist and producer Nadia Larguet to digitize the cultural quiz game “1001 Questions sur le Maroc” and integrate it into the MaxIt application. The initiative combines cultural heritage with interactive entertainment, making a tool for Moroccan identity and knowledge accessible to a broader public through a digital format. Hendrik Kasteel, CEO of Orange Maroc, framed the three announcements as an expression of the company’s core mission, stating that gaming and esports have become powerful drivers of social connection, innovation, and visibility for Moroccan youth, and that the operator intends to play a full and active role in that transformation.
