Morocco airports expand 100 percent mobile boarding pass across terminals

Airports of Morocco has introduced a fully digital boarding pass that allows passengers to travel using a secure QR code stored on their smartphones. The mobile boarding pass marks a new step in the country’s airport digital transformation by extending online travel services from booking and check-in to airport access.

After completing online check-in through their airline’s application, passengers receive a secure QR code that serves as their boarding pass. Document verification is carried out in advance by airlines in accordance with regulatory requirements. This enables travelers to move more smoothly through airport checkpoints and automated gates without presenting a printed boarding pass.

The new system, known as Pax Check, reflects changing travel habits as smartphones have become the main platform for booking flights, checking in, and accessing travel information. By integrating the boarding pass into a fully digital passenger journey, Airports of Morocco aims to simplify airport procedures and improve the overall travel experience.

The digital process reduces the need to handle paper documents, facilitates passenger movement through airport terminals, and enhances convenience while maintaining the highest security and safety standards in line with national and international regulations.

Airports of Morocco said the system will be rolled out progressively to all airlines that meet the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements necessary for integration.

The introduction of the mobile boarding pass represents the first stage of a broader airport digitalization strategy designed to support evolving passenger expectations and accommodate continued growth in air traffic.
