Royal Air Maroc launches special flights for Monterrey after Atlas Lions qualification

Royal Air Maroc unveils dedicated air bridge for Moroccan fans heading to Mexico

Royal Air Maroc has announced an exceptional flight program to transport Moroccan supporters to Monterrey, Mexico, following the qualification of the Atlas Lions for the Round of 16 of the world’s most prestigious football tournament. The initiative aims to enable thousands of fans to accompany the national team ahead of its highly anticipated match scheduled for June 29, 2026.

The announcement comes as excitement continues to build across Morocco after the national team’s successful progression beyond the group stage. As the official carrier of the Moroccan national football team, Royal Air Maroc has moved swiftly to organize a large-scale travel operation designed to meet the strong demand expected from supporters eager to witness the next chapter of the team’s campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Hamid Addou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, congratulated the Atlas Lions on their achievement and reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to supporting Moroccan football.

He noted that the company immediately mobilized its resources to establish an exceptional travel program within a very short timeframe, following the same approach adopted during the three group-stage matches. The objective, he said, is to provide Moroccan supporters with practical and affordable access to the tournament venue while reinforcing the connection between the team and its fans.

A first for Royal Air Maroc in Mexico

As part of this special operation, Royal Air Maroc will operate six dedicated outbound flights from Casablanca to Monterrey between Saturday and Monday. An additional six return flights will be scheduled between Tuesday and Thursday after the match.

In total, the airline will deploy 12 extra flights, providing more than 3,000 seats for supporters.

The operation marks a significant milestone for the national carrier. It will be the first time that Royal Air Maroc serves Monterrey and Mexico, reflecting both the scale of the sporting event and the airline’s ability to adapt its network to major international occasions.

The flights will operate as direct services between Casablanca and Monterrey using modern wide-body aircraft. According to the airline, passengers will benefit from high standards of safety and comfort throughout the journey. Flight duration is estimated at approximately 11 hours in each direction.

Fixed fare to encourage fan attendance

To make the trip accessible to the largest possible number of supporters, Royal Air Maroc has introduced a fixed round-trip fare of 10,000 Moroccan dirhams in economy class.

The ticket is non-refundable and non-modifiable, a formula designed to streamline booking operations while maximizing seat availability for football fans seeking to attend the match.

The pricing strategy reflects the airline’s broader effort to facilitate supporter travel during one of the most important moments of the national team’s international campaign.

Travel requirements for Mexico

Royal Air Maroc also reminded travelers of the entry requirements applicable to Mexico.

Passengers must hold a valid Mexican visa. However, travelers who possess a valid visa issued by the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or a Schengen Area member state are also permitted to enter Mexican territory under current regulations.

Supporters planning to make the journey are encouraged to verify their travel documents before booking to avoid any complications before departure.

Tickets available immediately

Ticket sales are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Bookings can be made through Royal Air Maroc commercial agencies across Morocco and through the airline’s dedicated supporter platform.

The initiative highlights the growing role of airlines in supporting major sporting events and reflects the powerful momentum surrounding Moroccan football. As anticipation builds ahead of the Round of 16 clash, thousands of supporters are expected to seize the opportunity to travel across the Atlantic and stand behind the Atlas Lions in Monterrey.

A new chapter in Morocco’s football journey

The special flight program illustrates the national enthusiasm generated by the Atlas Lions and underlines Royal Air Maroc’s strategic role in connecting Moroccan supporters with major international sporting events. With more than 3,000 seats available and direct access to Monterrey for the first time, the operation represents a logistical achievement that mirrors the ambition and growing global visibility of Moroccan football on the world stage.
